As part of the ongoing water line cleaning project in Harris County MUD 304 (HCMUD 304), all residents will experience a temporary overnight water outage on Sunday, August 3, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
This full-district shutdown is necessary to continue flushing and cleaning the water lines that serve your homes. While smaller sections have been affected on a rolling basis throughout the project, this Sunday night outage will impact every street in HCMUD 304.
What You Need to Do
To avoid disruptions to your routine, please plan ahead and complete all water-dependent tasks before 10:00 P.M. on Sunday evening:
- Take showers or baths
- Run your dishwasher or finish handwashing dishes
- Do laundry
- Fill up pet water bowls
- Refill water pitchers, humidifiers, and coffee makers
How to Flush Toilets Without Running Water
Toilet flushing will not be available during the outage, but you can prepare in advance:
- Fill a bathtub or large container with water before the shutoff begins.
- When needed, pour water directly into the back tank of your toilet until it reaches the normal fill line.
- Flush as usual.
This method allows your toilet to function even without a working water supply.
